Confirms specific facts about the company or a matter, such as its status, structure or the authority of the people acting for it. Use it when the recipient needs formal written confirmation of facts, but not a full legal opinion.

Legal Opinion
Gives a legal conclusion under Saint Lucia law based on a review of the company's documents. For example, that the company was validly incorporated, has the power to enter into a transaction, or that its directors are authorized to sign.
A legal opinion goes further than a legal letter. If the recipient hasn't said which they need, ask them, or ask us.

Legal Opinion / Certified Legal Opinion
What it is
A formal legal opinion from ACS on a legal question under Saint Lucia law. A certified legal opinion is formally signed and certified for submission to a third party.
When you need it
Usually requested by banks, lenders, investors or foreign authorities before a significant transaction or account opening.
What we'll ask you for
- Purpose of the opinion and who will receive it
- The legal question or matter to be addressed
- The country where it will be used, if applicable

From Request to Signed Document
- Select Legal Letters & Opinions and the document you need.
- Log in or register to open your secure ACS client portal.
- Complete the ACS Onboarding/KYC Application with company, director, shareholder and beneficial owner information, and upload your documents.
- Review your fees. Your complete fee schedule will be displayed before you submit your application and make payment.
- Submit and pay. Payment is made when you submit your application, before ACS’s compliance review.
- Compliance review. ACS completes the required KYC/AML review and decides whether the engagement can be accepted.
- Engagement. If accepted, the engagement documents are completed.
- Processing. ACS reviews the company’s documents, prepares your legal letter or legal opinion, and delivers it to you.

Yes. Legal letters and legal opinions are available to companies registered with another agent.
Is a legal opinion included in any package?
Yes. The Counsel formation package includes a legal opinion, and a legal letter if separately needed.
Can I add an apostille?
Yes. If the letter or opinion will be used abroad, add Apostille / Legalization.

What to Expect
You see your complete fee schedule and pay when you submit your application. ACS's compliance review takes place after payment. Submitting and paying does not by itself create a client engagement: work begins once ACS accepts the request and the engagement documents are in place.
ACS does not guarantee that a registry, government authority, bank or other third party will accept, approve or complete a request. Those decisions are theirs.
If a request is declined, refunds are handled under ACS's refund policy.
